...great idea Cybele, to share a few words about our Doug. It is nice to hear your voice again. We haven't seen you since we saw Doug last. Big kiss to Peter too... I have a Doug and my Doug and Doug Palladino, and our Doug Michels were the 3D club. It is now the 2D club as D Palladino says. Kind of flat.
Yes life with Doug Michels was anything other than flat. I was introduced to Doug by Peter Blake, the famous writer, architect, critic who said since we were new in town we had to meet this guy because we would love who he is and what he does. Doug was something else. He never lacked for surprises, never held back at any level, always moved on to the next chapter before the first one was written, while others were on the intro. He left a mark of one sort or another everywhere he went.
He always seemed to care regardless of how that interest was manifested. I hadn't seen him for some time but kept receiving the news releases! It is more than sad to feel him gone. He lived on a plane above and beyond the norm. Maybe he has finally found his spirit!
