Humans and dolphins floating
In 1976 Michaels said, "While others are attempting to break the language barrier of Dolphinese by studying the dolphins in holding tanks, our goal will be to exchange the information, energy, and mythologies of our cultures."

Happy Future…Doug’s expressions were always part blessing and part battle cry…and maybe a little bit threat. He could make you laugh until you cried.

Douglas and I were so lucky to have lived a few blocks from him during his Washington years, to have enjoyed just hanging out in his place on 21st Street, in the butterfly chairs, drinking champagne and talking for hours about ideas, which now fill my mind’s eye with wondrous possible worlds. He saw Washington like no one else and his projects for his adopted home town are among my favorites: New America, the new White House, the elegant and, to use a word Doug liked, prescient National Sofa.

Yesterday I reached into my desk draw for something, and there was the rubber stamp he gave me…"mighty mind" followed by the ubiquitous copyright symbol. I cried until I laughed.

The planet's just not the same without you Doug...Happy Future
