Neural Audio Imaging at the Walker Art Center

A live performance of Neural Audio Imaging took place in November, 1998

For this performance Paras Kaul performed in collaboration with Dr. Mark Applebaum who is currently a Professor of Music Theory and Composition at Stanford University. An animation was produced for the performance, using Alias Power Animator software on an SGI O2 computer, to create the 3D environment above. Beta, Alpha, Theta, and Delta frequencies were set to trigger color changes in the animation. The characters were modeled to appear as abstract simulations of neurons.
